How to create a Telegram deals channel: a practical guide

Create a Telegram deals channel, choose its theme, write the welcome message and connect a bot with the permissions it needs.

Decide which deals deserve a notification

Before you open the channel, finish this sentence: “People who follow me get deals on…”. A recognisable theme makes it easier to choose what to publish, and it tells a new visitor why they should subscribe.

Define what you leave out too: off-topic products, unclear variants, expired promotions, or recommendations you cannot justify. The value of a channel is in the selection, not in the number of notifications sent.

Opening the channel on Telegram

A channel broadcasts messages to subscribers; a group is built for conversation. For publishing a curated set of deals, a channel keeps the flow readable.

  1. Open Telegram and, from the new message control, choose New Channel. Where it sits depends on your device.
  2. Enter a recognisable name and a description that makes the theme and the selection criteria clear.
  3. Decide whether it should be public: a public channel has a username and can be searched; a private one needs an invite.
  4. Set the channel picture and address, then check how they look to a visitor.
Name, description and content are what make your channel recognisable.

Write the welcome and the first posts

In the pinned message, explain what you publish, how you choose products, and how to reach you for a correction. Make the commercial nature of your recommendations obvious. Avoid names and images that suggest the channel is run by Amazon.

Prepare a few useful posts before you share the channel. Alongside the deals, add notes on compatibility, differences between models or how to choose: someone arriving should understand the editorial angle straight away.

Connecting a bot to publish

A bot is an account controlled by software. Creating one does not start a deal search by itself: you need a service that sends it the messages to publish.

  1. Open the official BotFather profile and use /newbot to create your bot, following the prompts.
  2. Keep the token like a password: never post it in the channel, in screenshots or in support messages.
  3. Add the bot to the channel administrators and give it permission to post, keeping every other permission to the minimum.
  4. Connect it to the tool you chose and check one post goes through before you turn on any recurring schedule.
The bot posts the messages prepared by the software you connect to it.

Before you add Amazon deals

Creating the channel and being eligible with Amazon are two different checks. Telegram does not appear in the list of social networks accepted for the application: ask Amazon to confirm which methods you may use before distributing direct affiliate links.

Do not work around a restriction with redirects or masked links. Build your editorial and distribution path on the conditions confirmed for your project.

If the bot cannot post

Check that you added the bot to the right channel and gave it permission to post messages. Being a member is not the same as being an administrator with the permissions it needs.

If the channel cannot be found, check the address or identifier you entered. If the bot is not recognised, check the configuration in the connected service without posting the token anywhere.

Before scheduling many deals, confirm that a single message actually arrived in the channel. Check the text, the link and the destination. If something fails, keep the diagnostic message and the time of the attempt, with any private data blanked out.
